Haptic-Embodied Oral Reading: A Fun and Fabulous Way to Better Reading and Speaking Fluency!

This presentation demonstrates an innovative technique: haptic-embodied oral reading (HE-OR), based on the KINETIK method that uses special gestures and touch, along with full-body rhythm. It helps improve speaking and reading fluency, memory for content and vocabulary and pronunciation. It is applicable to learners of all proficiency levels, easy to teach and learn, affordable and can be used with almost any memorable written conversation or story—or word list. During this highly experiential and “kinetic” session, periodically participants are encouraged to stand up and “move” along with the presenters, with both hands free.
