Escape room style activities, such as word, audio, and visual puzzles, provide meaningful context, increase student output, and maintain student engagement. This presentation demonstrates how to design and implement escape rooms in the classroom using existing materials to cut down on preparation time. Attendees will complete a model escape room to experience one from the student perspective. Then, the presenter will walk through the steps of creating escape rooms, including both low-and-high-tech variations for in-person and online class formats. Attendees will leave the session fully equipped to implement escape rooms in their own classrooms.
